RealTime PCR is an extremely sensitive PCR technology utilized to quantitate gene expression levels. Quantitation of gene expression is achieved in the Facility through use of the Applied Biosystems’ TaqMan Assay platform. Applied Biosystems currently has more than 500,000 expression assays available, each comprised of gene specific probe and primer sets which have been validated and optimized for use with the ABI PRISM® 7900HT Sequence Detection System.
